The Heist formed as a trio with Dalton Rapattoni, Erik Paulson, and Ariel Levitan. Their debut single "All I Want" came out in 2016 and found an audience with its direct emotional pull, putting the band on the map.
They released a self-titled debut album in 2017, followed by a second album called "Invasion of Privacy." The band's lyrics often touched on personal and social themes, which connected with some listeners and drew criticism from others. In 2018, they dealt with a legal dispute over music ownership rights.
Rapattoni handled lead vocals, Paulson played guitar, and Levitan was on bass. The Heist's music maintained a focus on lyrical content and melodic structure across their releases.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
