The Hiss formed in Los Angeles in 2003, with Jake Henry on vocals, Luke Carter on guitar, Max Walker on bass, and Ethan Cohen on drums. They put out a self-titled debut album in 2006 that included the song 'Back On The Radio.'
That track got some attention for its indie rock feel, and it's still one of the songs people mention when they talk about the band. They kept making records after that, like 'The Beast in You' in 2009 and 'The Shape of Things' in 2012.
There was a break around 2010 when Henry had some trouble with the law, but they got back to it. Their later work, including 2015's 'The Darkest Hour,' leaned a bit more toward the experimental side compared to the straightforward punch of their early stuff.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
