Hold it in, hold me back

Way past the watermark

The proverbial dam

is starting to crack.

Stood on the edge of the delta,

balanced on metaphors and similes

Hoping to keep us out of flow

But there's something they lack

I'll be blunt to the point

I'm reserved, I could be more reserved

But the quiet dynamic has never really been my forte!

I try to subtle in my advances,

but time is of the essence,

so I'm taking my chances.

As the older I get I'm flirting with disaster

But we're not getting any younger,

the clock is only moving faster

Keeping it quiet, keeping it low

Progress has been made,

But its slow going, oh so slow

Taking the Lexington local line

Downtown to the Brooklyn Bridge.

All 13.4 miles won't waste your time.

We'll keep up this roundabout,

Touch and go keeping one another,

On each others toes,

But theres a good goddamn chance

We'll end up walking

All over each others feet
