The Hundred in the Hands was a duo made up of Eleanore Everdell and Jason Friedman. Everdell had classical violin training, which gave their music a particular texture against Friedman's electronic arrangements. They put out their first EP in 2008, called 'This Town Ain't Big Enough for the Both of Us,' and followed it with a self-titled album in 2010.
That 2010 album included songs like 'Red Night' and 'Commotion,' which showed their approach to blending atmospheric electronics with Everdell's vocals. The music didn't fit neatly into one genre, pulling from folk and ambient sounds as much as from synth-pop.
After the album, they released a few more singles but haven't put out new music in some time. Their recordings from that period remain what most listeners know them for.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
