The J. Arthur Keenes Band formed in 1995 around singer-songwriter J. Arthur Keenes, with guitarist Dave Nelson, bassist Nate Kohler, and drummer Scott Moore. They broke through in 2001 with their album 'Urban Cowboy,' which included the single 'Okay.'
Drummer Scott Moore left the band in 2003 and was replaced by John Vanderslice. The group released six studio albums between 2001 and 2019, including 'Here Comes the Rain' in 2004 and 'American Gothic' in 2011. Their songs 'Spaniard' and 'Trails' also appear among their most recognized tracks.
