Archive material and source history
The Jim Yoshii Pile-Up formed in Tokyo in 1991 with vocalist Jim Yoshii, guitarist Shige, bassist Hiroaki Takano, and drummer Masumi Morinaga. They built an underground following with a raw sound that drew from punk and hard rock. Their debut album 'Habitat' came out in 1994, and its single '3 + 1' became a hit.
Over the next decade they released albums like '1999' and 'Tokyo Deluxe'. The lineup shifted over time, with Shige departing in 1997 and Takeshi Fujita joining on guitar.
In 2003 the band went on indefinite hiatus. Songs like 'Silver Sparkler' show their blend of energy and melody from that period.
