The Kid formed in 2010 with Ryan Mendez on vocals and guitar, Emily Jones on bass, Jake Thompson on drums, and Sarah Carter on keyboards. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2012, followed by 'Young and Reckless' in 2017, 'Broken Promises' in 2019, 'The Phoenix' in 2021, and 'Unbreakable' in 2023.
Their songs include '+', '00 Hip-hop', '100', and '12/12/95' from their catalog. In 2015, Mendez faced sexual misconduct allegations from a former fan, which the band denied.
Mendez released solo albums 'Vulnerable' in 2018 and 'Echoes' in 2022. Jones has worked as a touring bassist, Thompson has done session drumming, and Carter has moved into music production.
