The Lazy Sundays formed in London in the early 2000s with Ollie Lloyd on vocals and guitar, Tommy Evans on bass, Sam Jenkins on drums, and Chris Hutchinson on keyboards. Their 2004 single 'Come On Play In My Playground' became a breakout hit, leading to their debut album 'Playtime' in 2006.
After Hutchinson left in 2007, the band took a brief break before returning with new keyboardist Max Pearson. They released two more albums: 'The Playground's Open' in 2009 and 'The Last Day of Summer' in 2012, which showed a shift toward more experimental sounds.
Their 2008 Manchester concert was canceled due to underage drinking allegations, which affected their reputation at the time. The band hasn't released new material in recent years, but their early work, particularly 'Come On Play In My Playground,' remains familiar to indie rock listeners from that period.
