Into the night another life

Twisted and torn beneath the ties

You squeeze me like a comfort blanket

Days sip the arching of the dunes

Vague lines between the bits you knew

A California life without the sun

The callow call from each and every home

My fear of flying keeps me grounded

For something sacred

The hungry years we hid beneath the sand

And the salt on the lips of the sea

The crack in the smile of the chipped summer teeth

From pitching softly in awkward places

We finally find that our luck is changing

We'll all get somewhere somehow
