The Lost Fingers formed in Canada in 2004 as a quartet playing acoustic arrangements of pop songs. Their version of Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' became one of their better-known tracks, along with covers like 'Black Velvet' and 'Careless Whispers.'
In 2012, guitarist Byron Mikaloff lost four fingers in a logging accident. He eventually returned to playing with his remaining digits, which became part of the band's story. They released albums including 'The Lost Fingers' in 2006, 'Lost in the Pickin'' in 2009, and 'Breathe Together' in 2013.
The group includes Mikaloff on guitar and vocals, Andrew Collins on violin and mandolin, Kevin Thomas on bass, and Pierre-Luc Dupuis on percussion. Their sound draws from gypsy jazz and folk traditions, though they're mostly known for their acoustic pop covers.
