The Orphelias formed in 2015 when Olivia Kaplan, Lina Tullgren, and Axelle Rost met as students at Berklee College of Music. They released their self-titled debut EP in 2017, followed by the EPs 'Effloresce' in 2019 and 'Soothsayer' in 2020. Guitarist Sam Jylänki joined the group in 2019.
