The Plasmarifle

The Plasmarifle formed in Los Angeles around 2005, a trio built around guitarist and vocalist K.A.A.N. with bassist F.E.A.R. and drummer M.A.D.E. Their early work leaned into heavy metal and post-hardcore, with songs like 'As The Mountains Rolled Back I Stood In Disbelief...' and 'Exhaling Life As Ink On A Page' showing their range from punishing riffs to more melodic territory.

They released several albums including 'War of the Titans' in 2007 and 'The Death of All Things' in 2010. By 2015 they put out 'Echoes of the Void,' which continued their blend of aggression and atmosphere. Tracks such as 'Goodbye Dearest Bethany (I've Cursed Us All)...' and 'Haunted By The Ghost Of A Dead Actress' reflect their tendency toward long, dramatic titles and emotional intensity.

K.A.A.N.'s lyrics and the band's live shows have drawn attention, sometimes contentious. There was a legal dispute around 2013 that they worked through. They've kept a fairly consistent lineup, with K.A.A.N. handling vocals and guitar, F.E.A.R. on bass, and M.A.D.E. on drums.
