The Poodles formed in Sweden in 2006 with Jakob Samuel on vocals, Pontus Norgren on guitar, Emma Johansson on bass, and Christian Ekstrand on drums. Their debut album 'Metal Will Stand Tall' came out that same year, establishing them in the Swedish rock scene.
Their 2007 single 'Night of Passion' became their breakout track, giving its name to their second album in 2008. The song's melodic hard rock approach helped them reach audiences beyond Sweden. They followed it with other tracks like 'Song For You' and '7 Days And 7 Nights' that maintained their accessible rock sound.
Guitarist Pontus Norgren left the band in 2009, and vocalist Jakob Samuel faced legal issues in 2014. The group continued releasing albums including 'Clash of Elements' in 2010 and 'Devil in the City' in 2013, keeping to their established style of melodic hard rock.
