Archive material and source history

The Receiving End of Sirens formed in Reading, Pennsylvania in 1999, with Casey Crescenzo, Scott Wilson, and Brandon Evans as founding members. Their debut album, 'Between the Heart and Mind,' came out in 2003 and established their sound with tracks like '...Then I Defy You, Stars' and 'A Realization Of The Ear.' The band's lineup later included Matt Henderson on drums and Ian O'Neil on keyboards and vocals.

In 2007, they released 'The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi,' which included songs such as 'Bell Book And Candle' and 'Broadcast Quality.' They put out three more albums over the next few years: 'Only Time Can Tell' in 2009, 'The Tide and Its Takers' in 2011, and 'Aurora' in 2013. Their music often leaned into layered arrangements and introspective themes, with 'Dead Men Tell No Tales' appearing among their notable songs.

The band's work drew attention within emo and alternative rock circles, particularly for its textured instrumentals and Crescenzo's vocals. They operated independently after parting ways with their record label in 2006, continuing to record and release music through the early 2010s.
