The Silence

The Silence formed in Norway in 2009, a heavy metal band led by vocalist Alissa. Their debut album 'Dead Silence' came out in 2011, followed by 'The Ritual' and 2015's '10,000 Poisoned Kisses', which became one of their better-known tracks. The lineup includes guitarists Martin and Jonas, bassist Terje, and drummer Lars.

Their songs often work with dark, atmospheric themes, like 'Amalie: The Dead Boy' and 'Die Young'. The music blends melodic death metal with gothic rock elements, built around Alissa's vocals and the band's layered guitar work.

They've kept a fairly steady presence in the Norwegian metal scene since forming, releasing albums every few years without much of the dramatic lineup changes or hiatuses that sometimes define other groups. The sound has remained consistent, heavy, melodic, and anchored in that particular blend of styles they established early on.
