The Silencers formed in Glasgow in 1986 with Jim Kerr on vocals, Billy Sloan on guitar, Cha Burns on bass, and Kevin Kelso on drums. Their debut album 'A Letter from Home' came out the following year and included the songs 'Painted Moon' and 'Bulletproof Heart.'
Sloan left the band in 1988 and was replaced by John Keenan on guitar. They kept recording through the early 1990s with albums like 'Dance to the Holy Man' and 'Answers.'
Some of their other songs include 'Bullets and Blue Eyes,' 'Scottish Rain,' and 'Answer Me.' They've released eight studio albums in total, with 'Back on the Streets' appearing in 2007.
