The Silents formed in Los Angeles in the late 1990s with Ethan James on vocals and guitar, Jake Reed on guitar, Zara Khan on bass, and Alex Stone on drums. Their first album, 'Echoes in a Void,' came out in 2002. It had a sound built around dreamy vocals and hypnotic guitar lines.
Their second album, '23,' arrived in 2004 and gave the band its breakthrough. The title track became a hit, a slow, haunting ballad that pulled them into a wider spotlight. The record's mood was introspective and atmospheric, which connected with listeners at the time.
After that, they put out 'The Dark Between Stars' in 2007, 'The Silent Light' in 2010, and 'A Distant Echo' in 2014. James left the group briefly in 2008, though he returned. Their other songs include 'Little Girl Lost' and 'Nightcrawl.'
