The Strange Boys formed in Austin, Texas in 2002, with Ryan Sambol on vocals and guitar, Jeff Finn on guitar, Philip Sambol on bass, and Greg Enzor on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005. By 2008, Finn and Enzor had left the band, replaced by Ricky Thomas on guitar and Joel King on drums.
Their 2009 album 'Be Brave' included the title track that became a fan favorite. Other songs from their catalog include 'All You Can Hide Inside' and 'Heard You Want to Beat Me Up.' They released 'Fire, Paint, and Blood' in 2010 and 'Live at the Fine Line' in 2011.
The band toured with The Replacements and The Strokes. Ryan Sambol's brother Philip played bass in the original lineup.
