The Third Memory formed in 2004 as a trio from London. Alana Stone handled vocals and songwriting, James Wilder played guitar and produced, and Michael Woods worked keyboards and synthesizers. They started playing in small venues before releasing their first album, 'Uncertain - Beautiful - Peaceful,' in 2006.
That debut album gave the band its name and established their sound, which mixed electronic textures with introspective lyrics. They followed it with 'The Weight of Silence' in 2009 and a self-titled album in 2012. Their music often dealt with themes of love, loss, and searching for peace.
In 2010, the band canceled a tour because of James Wilder's mental health struggles. Alana Stone also drew attention for criticizing the music industry's commercial side at times. They kept recording, putting out 'Immersion' in 2016.
