The Throbs formed in London in 1977 with Spizz on vocals, Jon Langford on guitar, Paul Ryan on bass, and Dave Slaughter on drums. They put out their debut single 'Come Down Sister' in 1979, a track that became something of an anthem for their particular corner of the post-punk scene.
Their sound had a raw, punk energy but wasn't afraid of melody, which you can hear on songs like 'Dreamin'' and 'Ecstasy'. They released a few albums in the early '80s, including 'Out of the Shadows' and a self-titled record.
