Katie White and Jules De Martino made danceable indie pop that felt both scrappy and precise.
For their early punch, listen to "That's Not My Name." For something later, try "Good Grief."
They arrived in 2007 with a sound that was hard to ignore. "That's Not My Name" became an instant shout-along anthem, and "Shut Up And Let Me Go" kept the energy high. Their songs had a way of sticking around, even as they moved through different albums and lineups.
They formed in Manchester and released their debut album "We Started Nothing" in 2008. After Jules De Martino left in 2013, Katie White worked solo before they reunited in 2018 for "The Black Light."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
