The Van Jets formed in London in the late 1970s when Jimmy Jet and guitarist Mark Stone started playing together. They were joined by bassist Chris Carter and drummer Tony Hughes. In 1982, they put out their first album, 'Terminal Velocity.'
Songs like 'Down Below' and 'TV' show what they were doing at the time, with loud guitars and Jet's voice up front. In the mid-80s, Jet had a legal fight with his old label over who owned his songs, which he eventually won.
They kept making music after that. 'The Future' is another one of their tracks that people remember.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
