The Vermes formed in Buenos Aires in the early 1980s, mixing punk, cumbia, and rock. Their debut album 'La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros' came out in 1988, followed by records like 'Hotel de los Sueños' in 1992 and 'Pecados Capitales' in 1995.
Their song 'Jaba Popular' from 1989 became their most recognizable track.
Original members included Ricky Espinosa on vocals, Diego Frenkel on guitar, Claudio Kleiman on bass, and Alejandro Canale on drums. The lineup changed over time, but those four were there at the start.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
