The Waking Life formed in 2001 with Schuyler Fisk on vocals and guitar, Chris Petti on guitar and vocals, Eric Rivas on bass, and Erik Powers on drums. Their debut album 'Threads' came out in 2003, followed by a self-titled record in 2005. They made songs like 'Schuyler Fisk' and 'The Concluding Countdown' that leaned toward ethereal indie rock.
Drummer Erik Powers left in 2006, and Ryan Seaman joined. The band put out 'Here Comes Everybody' in 2007 and 'Road to Heaven' in 2010. In 2009, they faced plagiarism accusations over a song called 'September,' which they denied.
They released 'All Things End' in 2014 and disbanded the following year.
