The Wheels formed in Glasgow in the late 1960s with Ronnie Duncan on vocals and guitar, Duncan Mackay on drums, and Sandy McLachlan on bass. They signed with Polydor Records in 1972 and released their self-titled debut album that same year.
Their second album, "The Best Days of Our Lives," came out in 1974 and included the song "Born To Make You Happy." That track became their most recognizable work, though their catalog also includes songs like "Coins in the wishing well," "Hello," and "Sozinho."
They put out several more albums through the late 1970s and early 1980s, including "Sail Away," "Remember," and "Never Say Never." The band's lineup changed at times, with Ian Smythe and Davy Hunter also appearing as members.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
