The Wiseguys formed in Cologne in 1990. Their music mixed jazz, pop, and a cappella vocals, with songs like "Oh La La" and "Alles Banane" becoming hits in Germany. The original lineup included Micha Reinke, Daniel Dickopf, Nils Olfert, Andrea Figallo, Christoph Tettinger, and Frank Tedde.
They released albums such as "Die Banane" in 1991 and "Walking on the Moon" in 1995. Their lyrics often had a playful, satirical edge, though some songs like "Gangster & Swagger" drew criticism for how listeners interpreted their content.
Later albums included "Wochenende & Sonnenschein" in 1999 and "Hast du etwas Zeit für mich" in 2006. The band's lineup changed over time, but they kept making music into the 2010s with releases like "Immernoch" in 2016.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
