The Zeest formed in New York City around 2001. Their song "Sutta" came out in 2010 and became their most recognizable track, along with "Sutta Na Mila." The band includes Jamey Jasta on vocals, Matt Tarpey on guitar, Chris Masciantonio on bass, and Alex Bent on drums.
Their early material drew attention for its aggressive sound and direct lyrics, which sometimes sparked debate. They released albums like "Hostile Sounds" and "The Devil in Music," showing a shift from rougher beginnings to more melodic work later on.
Over time, the group addressed some of the criticism around their content by supporting charities and speaking against hate speech. They kept playing and recording without softening their approach too much.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
