Thell Barrio

Thell Barrio formed in Puerto Rico in 2007, a duo of brothers who brought together hip-hop, reggae, and salsa. Their first single "Latino" came out the following year, and it caught on with its mix of urban beats and Spanish lyrics. They followed it with an album of the same name.

Their songs like "Justicia o Muerte" and "Sentimientos de La Nacion" often dealt with street life and social issues, which sometimes drew criticism. The group kept making music, releasing albums such as "Reggaetonero," "Revolucion," and "Urbano."

The brothers handled most of the work themselves, with Thell on vocals and Barrio producing the tracks. They had a DJ named Fresko with them for performances. Their sound stayed rooted in that initial blend, pulling from different corners of Latin music without settling into just one style.
