Thiago & Renato started playing together in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1980s. They were childhood friends who shared an interest in music, and they spent their early years performing at small venues around the city.
Their debut album came out in 1996, and it included the song "É Ela Quem Diz." That track became their most recognizable work, though they also recorded others like "Festa de Peão" and "Razão de Nossas Vidas." They put out several more albums over the following years, including Feito Pra Você in 1999 and Até o Fim in 2002.
Thiago Nascimento wrote most of the lyrics, while Renato Rocha handled the guitar work. They kept making music together for a long time, releasing a collection called 15 Anos in 2011.
