Thorny Woods

Thorny Woods formed in 2010 with vocalist Anya Ravenwood and guitarist Ethan Thorne, later adding bassist Jareth Nightshade and drummer Damien Willow. Their debut album 'Whispers of the Woods' came out in 2012, featuring the song 'Foggy Lands' that became something of a calling card for them.

In 2015, Damien Willow left the band and was replaced by Rowan Moonstone on drums. Two years later, some critics raised questions about whether 'Foggy Lands' borrowed too heavily from an older folk song, though the band maintained it was their original work. They kept recording through it, putting out a third album called 'Shadows of the Past' that continued in their established style.
