Tião Carreiro and Pardinho were a Brazilian duo who performed together from the 1940s onward. Their first album came out in 1951, called 'Rio de Janeiro'. They worked in a style that mixed sertanejo with country music, often built around the viola and guitar.
Some of their best-known songs are 'Eu, a Viola e Ela', 'Moreninha Linda', 'Pagode em Brasília', and 'Racha Cuca'. They recorded over fifty albums in total.
Tião Carreiro was born Antônio Henrique de Almeida in Monte Azul Paulista in 1926. Pardinho, whose real name was Pedro Raymundo Pacheco, came from Franca. They started playing in the countryside before finding a wider audience.
