Tiãozinho da Mocidade

Tiãozinho da Mocidade is a Brazilian singer from the Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. He's best known for his 1982 recording of 'Escada da Penha,' a song about a historic church that became widely popular. The track appears to have drawn some criticism at the time for how it handled religious themes.

His other songs include 'Estrela Que Vem do Céu,' 'Barão Com Belizário,' 'Errando Aprendi,' and 'Feito Pudim.' He has recorded more than a dozen albums and has worked with artists like Paulinho da Viola and Alcione. For some of his performances, he was backed by a group called Orquestra Tabajara.
