Ticco

Ticco formed in São Paulo in 1996 with João Lucas on vocals and guitar, Kleber on bass and vocals, and Ivan on drums and percussion. They released their debut album 'Amor é pra quem sabe amar' that same year, with the title track becoming a hit that brought them national attention in Brazil.

Their music leaned into straightforward pop and rock with some samba touches, built around sentimental lyrics about love and relationships. Songs like 'Bem maior que palavras' and 'Ninguém pode Ocupar seu Lugar' followed a similar pattern of melodic, emotionally direct material that connected with listeners while drawing criticism from some quarters for being too commercial.

They put out three more studio albums after their debut: 'Nosso segredo' in 1998, 'Contato' in 2000, and a self-titled album in 2002. The band maintained a consistent output through these years before their recorded activity trailed off after the early 2000s.
