Tigertown

Tigertown formed in 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee, with Katie Crutchfield and Jessy Lynn McReynolds as the core members. Their debut album 'Lonely Cities' came out in 2019, featuring the title track that became one of their most recognizable songs. They followed it with 'We're on the Fox Islands' in 2021.

Crutchfield handled much of the songwriting, while McReynolds contributed vocals and played multiple instruments. Their sound drew from folk and indie rock with some electronic touches, creating a mood that felt both intimate and atmospheric. Another track like 'Papernote' shows their approach to melody and arrangement.

They've worked with other musicians including Sylvan Esso and Lucy Dacus. Some listeners found their lyrics leaned toward melancholy, but the duo kept writing about themes of isolation and connection. Their music didn't try to solve urban loneliness so much as document it quietly.
