In 1982, they released their version of 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight,' a cover of the South African folk song 'Mbube.' That recording became their biggest hit, reaching number one in the UK, US, and Canada. It's the song most people remember them for.
The group put out a few albums like 'Tight Fit' and 'Tight Fit II' before disbanding in 1984. There were some royalty disputes around 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' involving the original composer Solomon Linda, but those were settled later.
