Tiko's Groove formed in 1981 around singer-songwriter Tiko Torres and guitarist Ted Bruner, with keyboardist Kevin Savigar and bassist Tommy Mandel rounding out the quartet. They put out their debut album 'Tiko' in 1984, which included the song 'I Don't Know What To Do.' That track became their most recognizable single, reaching the Billboard top 10.
Guitarist Ted Bruner left the band in 1986, replaced briefly by Rick Willson. The group released two more albums in the late '80s, 'No Reservations' in 1986 and 'Simple Things' in 1988. In 1989, they got into a legal dispute with their label Capitol Records over unpaid royalties and creative control, which led to them leaving the label.
Later albums like 'Higher Ground' from 1994 and 'Ready for the Ride' from 2000 showed the band working with different sounds. Other songs in their catalog include 'I Can't Get Nothing' and 'Sim Amiga! (I'll Be There!).'
