Tilt formed in Barcelona in the early 2000s with Alex Serra on vocals and guitar, Jordi Busquets on bass, and Manolo Álvarez on drums. They put out their self-titled debut album in 2005, followed by records like 'Exquisite Corpse' in 2008 and 'The Contagion Theory' in 2011.
Their song 'Libel' caused some trouble in 2009 when a government official claimed the lyrics were defamatory. The charges were eventually dropped, but the incident stuck to the band's name. Álvarez left in 2014 and was replaced by drummer Dani Ferrer.
