Timbacan formed in Havana in the early 1990s, a group of musicians drawn together by Cuban musical traditions. They started releasing albums in the late '90s, beginning with their self-titled debut in 1997.
Their song "Nadie Es Profeta" came out on that first album and became their most recognized track. The band kept recording through the 2000s and 2010s, putting out records like "Hablando en Serio" and "Para Mi Gente."
Roberto Carcassés handled vocals and percussion, with David Calzado on piano and vocals. Other members included Mayito Rivera, Tirso Duarte, Enrique Lazaga, Ignacio Herrera, and Ysander Leon.
