Timbaland, born Timothy Zachery Mosley in Norfolk, Virginia, started making beats as a teenager.

His production style became recognizable for its syncopated percussion and spacey synth layers. He worked with artists like Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, and Rihanna throughout the 2000s, helping shape the sound of pop and hip-hop during that period. In 2009, he released 'Morning After Dark' featuring Soshy, a track with pulsing beats and ethereal vocals that became a fan favorite.

Timbaland's solo albums include 'Tim's Bio: Life from da Bassment' from 1998 and 'Shock Value' from 2007. He often collaborated with producers Danja and Magoo, as well as vocalists like Nelly Furtado and Keri Hilson. While he faced sexual harassment allegations in 2019 which he denied, his production work from the late 90s through the 2000s remains influential in how producers approach rhythm and electronic elements in mainstream music.
