The Time Bandits formed in Scotland in the late 1970s, with Dave Swarbrick on fiddle, John Kirkpatrick on guitar, Dave Pegg on bass, and Dave Mattacks on drums. Their first album came out in 1980, and its title track 'Endless Road' became their best-known song.
Swarbrick left the band in 1982, but the remaining members kept recording through the 1980s and 1990s. They put out albums like 'Victim of Circumstances' in 1981, 'The Exquisite Heft of the Thrown Chicken' in 1983, and 'Glasgow' in 1991.
They returned with another self-titled album in 2006.
