Timo Tolkki is a Finnish guitarist who first gained attention playing with the metal band Stratovarius in the 1990s. He was part of albums like 'Fourth Dimension' and 'Infinite' before leaving the group in 2008.
After Stratovarius, he formed Timo Tolkki's Avalon and released the debut album 'Eden's Invitation.' The track 'Enshrined In My Memory' from that record became one of his better-known songs, along with others like 'Fresh Blue Water' and 'Are You The One.'
There were some personal and legal difficulties along the way, including an arrest in 2011, but he kept recording music under his own name. The work tends toward melodic metal with guitar-driven arrangements.
