Tiny Animals formed in 1995, with Vanessa Briscoe Hay on vocals and guitar. Their debut album 'Still Life' came out the following year. The band included bassist Bill Rieflin, who had played with King Crimson and R.E.M., and drummer Michael Bland, who had worked with Prince and Soul Asylum.
Their second album 'Voices' arrived in 1997, featuring the song 'Answer Me.' That track became their most recognizable work. The band released one more album, 'Songs for the Summer,' before disbanding in 1999.
Their music had a haunting quality, with songs like 'Fight Or Flight' and 'Wait For Me' showing their range. They put out just three albums during their brief run in the late 1990s.
