Tito Gómez was born in Mexico City in 1941. He started singing with a group called Los Yorsy's in the 1960s before going solo. In 1966, he recorded 'Página de Amor,' a ballad written by Rubén Fuentes. That song became his biggest hit, reaching the top of charts across Latin America.
His version of 'Página de Amor' led to tours in Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, and the United States. Gómez recorded several albums including 'Inolvidable' in 1969 and 'Tito Gómez en Nueva York' in 1971. He had a band with Enrique Herrera on guitar, Lorenzo Hernández on bass, and Pepe Aguirre on drums.
In the 1970s, there was a legal dispute over the rights to 'Página de Amor.' The court eventually ruled in Gómez's favor. He kept performing and recording through that decade, with songs like 'Volver' appearing among his popular tracks.
