Tito Noronha

Tito Noronha was born in 1957 in Petrolina, a city in northeastern Brazil. He grew up hearing the traditional sounds of the region, with accordion, zabumba, and triangle forming the backdrop of his early years. In the 1980s, he started performing with Trio Nordestino before going out on his own later that decade.

His band, simply called Tito Noronha, plays forró, a lively Brazilian genre rooted in those northeastern traditions. The song 'Casamento' became one of his best-known tracks, though it was also the subject of plagiarism accusations at the time. He kept recording through the 1990s and 2000s, putting out albums like 'Forró da Gente' and 'Som do Nordeste'.
