Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 is a Japanese rock band that formed in 2014. Their name references the 2011 earthquake that hit Tokyo, which gives some sense of where their music comes from. The group includes Masahiro Kitazaki on vocals and guitar, Yuji Nomi on bass, and Shinnosuke Takamizawa on drums.
They put out their debut EP 'Resonance' in 2015, which had the song 'Melody' on it. That was followed by the full album 'The Edge of Nowhere' in 2017 and another album called 'Ashes to Ashes' in 2019. Their most recent release was the EP 'Remnants' in 2021.
In 2017, the band dealt with plagiarism accusations from a former member, though those claims were later found to be unsubstantiated. Their other songs include 'Kimi no Uta'.
