Tom Angelripper

Tom Angelripper is the frontman and bassist for the German thrash metal band Sodom, which he co-founded in 1981. The band's raw, aggressive sound developed in the underground metal scene of that era. Their 1986 album 'Obsessed by Cruelty' became a notable release in thrash metal, with the title track gaining recognition among fans.

Angelripper has also recorded German drinking songs and folk tunes, including tracks like 'Trink, Trink, Brüderlein Trink' and 'In München Steht Ein Hofbräuhaus.' These recordings show a different side to his musical output beyond Sodom's thrash metal work.

In 2014, Angelripper faced domestic violence allegations that resulted in his arrest, an incident that drew attention within the metal community. He has spoken about dealing with depression and addiction while continuing to perform with Sodom.
