Tom Plutão (Ormando zhiOmn)

Tom Plutão, born Ormando zhiOmn, started making music as a teenager, drawing from Brazilian samba, jazz, and African rhythms. He formed his first band at 16, mixing electronic and acoustic sounds. In 2008, he took on the name Tom Plutão, inspired by the Roman god Pluto, and began releasing albums like 'Transe' in 2010 and 'Vulcão' in 2014.

His 2017 album 'Além do Corpo' became a notable point in his work, with the title track exploring themes of physical limits through layered vocals and ambient textures. Other songs from that period include 'Amplie Sua Visão' and 'Bússola do Coração'. He has worked with musicians like Allan Medrado on drums and Mariana Aydar on vocals.

Tom Plutão's music has drawn both appreciation and criticism for its experimental approach, with some finding it self-indulgent while others value its distinctiveness. He has continued releasing albums, including 'Estrela Negra' in 2019 and 'O Grande Vazio' in 2022.
