Tommy was a band that formed in the late 1960s with guitarist Tommy Bolin, bassist Richard Dorsett, and drummer Greg Prain. They started out as Zephyr before changing their name. Keyboardist Gregg Rolie joined in 1971, bringing a different dimension to their sound.

Their music blended rock with blues, jazz fusion, and gospel elements. Songs like "Eyesight to the Blind" and "Acid Queen" show that range. They released several albums including a self-titled debut in 1969, "High and Mighty" in 1971, and "The Last Album" in 1972.

Tommy Bolin died in 1976, which ended the band's run. Their recordings, particularly tracks like "Mother and Son" and "Amazing Journey," still surface occasionally among collectors of that era's rock.
