Archive material and source history
Tommy Korberg is a Swedish singer who started performing in bands during the 1960s. He signed with the Metronome label in 1969 and put out his first album, simply called 'Tommy.'
In 1981, he recorded 'Judy Min Vän,' a ballad written about a childhood friend who died of cancer. The song became one of his most recognized pieces. A few years later, in 1988, he performed 'Stad I Ljus' for Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest, where it finished third.
He has sung at places like Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House. His style sometimes drew criticism for being outspoken or unconventional, but he kept recording and performing.
