Tonight We Hunt formed in Atlanta around 2010, playing a raw style of blackened metal. Their second album, 'Arise,' came out in 2012 and got them some notice in underground circles for its heavy riffs and melodic touches.
Vocalist Andrew McKeown had a drug-related arrest in 2015, which briefly complicated things for the band. They kept playing, though, and their lyrics about dark or occult themes found an audience that wasn't put off by the subject matter.
The lineup has stayed fairly consistent with McKeown on vocals, Josh Nason on guitar, Brian Lane on bass, and Jake Reeves on drums. They've put out a handful of albums since starting, including 'Serpent King' in 2014 and 'Burning Dawn' in 2022.
